Place House is in the heart of the Cornish coastal town of Fowey and has been lived in by the Treffry family since the thirteenth century; dwelling at Place through the Middle Ages, the Tudors, the Stuarts, the Civil War and the Age of Improvement in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Working with our students at Place has been an unique opportunity as the house has never been systematically studied or open to the public. With a group of our students, we undertook a range of archival and physical investigations on site.
